A Local landlord recently decided, after years of taking their money, that he no longer wanted a group of transvestites to use his pub. This is the letter that I wrote to the Daily Echo, it was published under the heading "Discrimination is wrong" :

"So the landlord of the Hampshire Ram wants to boost business (Daily Echo, August 23). He has a funny way of going about it. He would appear to be implying that gay and lesbian people are not nice [in the original article the landlord had said that he no longer wanted gays or lesbians to use his pub and that he wanted nice people to drink there].

There are far worse things to be met in city bars than a few guys dressed as women. Drunken louts, hen parties, abysmal karaoke and incessant mobile phones for starters!

Besides the silliness, I think that there ia serious point to be made: he is discriminating against a section of society and that is wrong."
