I suppose that I should not comment upon the upcoming visit of American President Bush to these shores or his stay with our Queen in BuckingHam Palace but sod that, these are my shores and queen, anyway what kind of, err, person would walk into this lion's den just before his re-election attempt? So they planned it 18 months ago - just before or after they planned the invasion of Iraq yet didn't see this coming?! Do you know _ I don't think that they did.
Now I am, possibly, of average intelligence and under educated but even I could see where this bucket of slops with Iraq painted on the side would end up. It's a mess and one that will drag on and on, it will drag the US & the UK facedown into humiliation and neither nations' government will understand what went wrong or why they have piled up so much hatred . Hatred that will be aimed at all of us.
I am very scared by the stupidity that rules the world, it is very tempting to turn ones back and go dig the garden.
Mr Bush, please don't come to England - why not take your wife & kids to the beach!

It's me birthday this weekend - fifty blooming eight - a postwar brat born before the National Health Service in a private nursing home in Wokingham. That cost my parents £20 - although you could say it was the downpayment! Sometime after my birth the nursing home burnt to the ground.
This aging thing is most strange - I guess it would have to be! Except for a gradual slowing down, an increased use of 'sod that' and a more careful application ofdietaryy information not a lot has changed. I only way weigh some 20 pounds more than I did when aged 21 - the loss of hair may have helped here.
Distinguishing between changes in behaviour due to aging, increased wisdom, stupidity, etc, seems to me to be virtually impossible. Is it the 'sod it' factor or does the 'real' me have so little time for humanity - dangerous thing successful therapy!
We've not been here for so long mainly due to a tremendous storm that took out the modem and was an excuse to order a good external jobby.
