Did you have it, that blooming killer virus? Well matey, I did - but what concerns me is the recovery rate. What recovery? Exactly!
An aspect of getting older is that one becomes preoccupied with the process of getting older. For example, was this last bout of viral nastiness the result of a nasty virus or simply that my ageing body takes much longer to deal with quite ordinary viral infections? Don't ask me - I was never so old before.
When one is 20, 30, even 40, the effects of age are the preoccupations of the mentally disturbed. At 50 they become the background hum to existence. Sad.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not really complaining & infact I am pretty healthy if slower than I was. But, as one gets older, pretending one is a grumpy old sod becomes increasingly more important!
